Yoochun de JYJ no estará sirviendo al servicio militar normal de Corea por el asma crónica que tiene desde su nacimiento. En su lugar, él será asignado a un servicio público, la posición personal para reemplazar a su dos años de servicio militar obligatorio. La fecha exacta de su reclutamiento (con el servicio público) no se ha determinado todavía. 

De hecho, Yoochun recibió una carta de alistamiento que le obligaba a informar al entrenamiento militar para el 21 de mayo. Pero debido a su rodaje en marcha con la SBS "Príncipe Sobre las azoteas", él ha sido capaz de posponer su reclutamiento de forma temporal.

Yoochun Gets Exemption from Regular Military Duty Because of Asthma by: thunderstix on May 3, 2012 Flag as inappropriate JYJ’s Yoochun will not be serving the regular Korean military duty because of the chronic asthma he was born with. Instead, he will be assigned to a public service personnel position to replace his two year mandatory military service. The exact date of his enlistment (with public service) has not been determined yet. 

The report was made on May 3 when Yoochun’s agency, CJ-eS Entertainment, said through a press releases that, “Yoochun was diagnosed with chronic asthma in his first physical examination last February. After three more examinations, he received a grade 4, so Yoochun will serve as public service personnel.” 

In fact, Yoochun received an enlistment letter that required him to report to military training by May 21. But because of his on-going filming with SBS “Rooftop Prince,” he has been able to postpone his enlistment temporarily. 

“We haven’t decided yet on when he will enlist. He will be focusing on his acting in the time being,” his agency said.
